If they split the road trip and stay .500 when Kipper returns on Sunday, I'd be pretty darn impressed. 11 games and still staying afloat.

Cervenka only played 3 min so it is tough to make an impact, even though he still got an assist. I feel the Phoenix win can have a huge carry-over effect, proving they can a) win B2B on the road, b) come back from a deficit to win in regulation, c) get depth scoring, and b) let in 4 goals and still win. Most of these were missing the last 3 yrs.

Sunday for Kipper against the Canucks for the first game back???

Do you think there is appetite to send Kipper to Abbotsford for their Saturday night game vs Houston as a conditional game? Then he could play Wed, vs the Sharks.

Lets face it, getting a single point against the Canucks is probably best case and he will likely face 40 shots and have Burrows/Kassian in his crease all night vs Van.

Do you think the Flames would bring Ramo in this year with the emergence of Joey Mac? Could the Flames continue on with the duo of Joey Mac and Ramo and trade Kipper? This could go many ways.

It certainly could....even further, if Joey continues to play well, he might secure himself a spot or raise his value to a contending team in need of secondary puck stopping. Low cap hit of $550,000

You're right, I've also thought about this. Could be a solid 2nd or 3rd round pick come deadline day.

Last year Ramo's season end April 25th. Currently Avangard are 2-1 down in their playoff series, so an early exit might be good.

There is also a deadline for bringing European players over, not sure is that changed with the short season.

Kipper is more tradeable than Iggy right now. For one, he doesn't have a no trade clause and second he is only making a Million next year cash, $5.8m Cap Hit, so he could be move to a floor crunch team for players/picks.

I hope this happens. I keep thinking that Washington needs him most. Maybe we could get a 1st and a prospect.

I'd be a nice start to the future....especially considering where Washington might finish this year.

I always thought Ramo would develop into a good goalie. I was kind of ticked the Flyers never really went for him when he seemed loosely hanging onto the bottom of various teams rosters.

Considering he was a "throw in" in the Cammalleri deal, it would be a bonus if he turned into anything of value for Calgary. Let alone a legitimate starter.

Anyone know where Ramo makes in the KHL and how that would translate to an NHL contract?

I don't understand the lack of playing time with Cervenka unless he is hurt or sick or something. Lets be honest were trying to attract skilled players here and we get one that isn't playing badly and he becomes a healthy scratch and buried on the fourth line. Perplexing

A message being sent? Since he probably can't understand a bloody thing the coaches say, my guess is its getting lost in translation...

It could very well be system issues that you and I can't really see. With the language barrier, if Hartley doesn't feel like he can count on Roman to be where he needs to be, I can understand a diminished role while they work on things in practice.

Hopefully he doesn't get discouraged while he adjusts.

I don't know if he was a throw in. I think Feaster really wanted him. And with Price being the franchise goaltender and being young I don't think Ramo would've wanted to go to Montreal. Where as with Kipper in the twilight of his career Calgary would look like an opportunity to Ramo.

If you are going to trade the best goalie in franchise history, you don't dump him on a crappy cellar team, no matter the return. Talk about messed up.

Agreed, hopefully we don't put the time and effort getting him used to the nhl and North America only to have him jump to another team next year and become a 45 to 70 point guy (which is the level i see him progressing too). Which is my fear with him being healthy scratched and put on the fourth line with 3 mins of ice. Just my 2 cents.

I doubt they will be a cellar team after the have a goalie like Kipper. Their biggest weekness is in goal.
